This year has been a gamble with the highest stakes, were I've lost everything just to win it all back. It has taught me that I am stronger.

Time for Cuddles

Milky has never been a lap cat. And today he just decided to walk into my lap and take a nap. Melted my heart, even if it made me miss an hour of my laundry time and my legs are now in big pain. I love this monster!

A Day With Mom

Yesterday I had a lovely day with my mom. We went in to all the cute stores and boutiques that are here in town. We had lunch at lovely café that I have wanted to visit since I moved here, they had a really tasty soup. After the fall of darkness we went out to Liseberg, the amusement park. There's beautiful Christmas lights all over the park and they also had different types of Christmas fairs. We also saw a beautiful ice skating show before having vegetarian Christmas buffet. It was a great day, even if I from time to time was a bit cold.

 

Kristina från Duvemåla

This weekend my mom is visiting Gothenburg. My oldest brother and his wife were supposed to come as well, but my brother is sadly ill so they both stayed at home. Truth be told I'm glad that they stayed at home. Mom and I kicked of the weekend by goign to GöteborgsOperan and watched a musical called "Kristina från Duvemåla", based on the Emigrants novels by Vilhelm Moberg. I have never seen it before, but I grew up with two songs from this musical. Guldet Blev till Sand and Du Måste Finnas, both really great songs. Fell in love with a new one during the performance, Aldrig.

The musical was great, though I wanted to slap the kids sitting behind me. They talked so much! There should be rules against bringing children to these kind of events.

Zoink!

I don't know if I even told this blog that I'm doing an internship at Zoink! But yeah, that's what I'm doing these days and I love it. The people there are great, the game that we are working on is great and I get to do a lot of cool stuff. One of the cool things that I can show of is this short animation, my first run cycle.

Making a Princess

After a lot of thinking I decided to turn myself into Princess Leia Organa for my friends Halloweenparty/Birthdayparty. And I did of course make my costume all by myself, not only the dress but also her gun. It was really fun to be sewing again, though it would have been a lot easier and the result would have been better if I had used the right kind of fabric. But I'm poor so I had to make do with what I could afford. I followed this very handy tutorial and it was great since the measurement suited me perfectly.

  

The dress took a day to make, it was really easy. 

Making the gun was a very interesting process. I spent hours in the hardware store without finding the right material. But I was able to find everything I needed in my magical wardrobe, the one filled with all kinds of stuff.

  

The pipe is made from glitter-glue pen, the colorful parts are clay and then there is some wire in there as well. A little bit of everything!

Final Inktober

I know, October is over and so is also this years Inktober. But I finally manage to finish my last picture for this challenge. I wasn't able to draw everyday, but I did my best and I'm now looking forward to go back the normal pencil.

And so it Begins...

I'm wrapping the first Christmas gift for this year. Selma is delighted, since she loves playing with the wrapping strings. She is really adorable. I would love to wrap the second gift as well, since I just finished it. But I don't have any clear tape, so wrapping is a bit hard I guess. I will probably start making Christmas cards soon as well.

Crazy Saturday

Yesterday was such an eventful. The short version is that I went to Malmö for a birthday party. The longer version can be found below.

I was going to take the bus leaving Gothenburg at 11.00. And before that I had to make began snickers and go by the Systembolaget. Not that stressful. Of it isn't that you realize that you don't have the ingredients. So at 8.00 I took the bike to the nearest open store and bought the ingredients. And at 9.00 I'm finished with the snickers. Just in time to discover that the cat food won't last the day. So of to the vet to buy 6 kg food and feed my cats. Back at 9.45, the time I wanted to leave home for Systembolaget and the bus. In a hurry I change clothes, pack my stuff and leave the apartment. On the tram I'm starting to realize that the tickets are sold out, so I have to take a train that leaves 50 minutes later. No worries, gave me time to actually go to Systembolaget.

While riding the train I enjoy my music and knitting on my hat, a bit annoyed by the lack of of free WiFi. After a while they announce that we are a bit late. You know, just 1,5 hours and that the train was to be taken out of service at the next station. I might have been late, but at least I arrived to the party and had a great time. Lots of cakes, friends and a tower building game.

At 21.00 I had to leave the party, taking the last bus back to Gothenburg. I got to the bus station ten minutes before departure, and there was of course no bus there. The bus was 40 minutes late.. What can I say, yesterday wasn't the best day for traveling. I'm hoping that I can get some kind of refunds on my tickets, even if they weren't that expensive I am kind o f a poor person.

Inktober

So the last two days have been a bit forgotten when it comes to this challenge. And I do not have any hopes for this day either. But we will see how it goes on the near future. Hopefully I will pick the pen up again and start drawing again.

Where did the time go? How did it get so very late? Need sleep, now! Tried my best with a mermaid today and thought a bit on why they have both breasts and noses when they are fishes. Also, having a pair of breasts does not help me draw them. I should, and also want to, go drawing models so that I get a hang of the human body once again.

I finally bought new pens today and I now have to do the hard thing of actually throwing away the old ones. It pains me to trow them away, they aren't really free and I also don't want to give up on them. The relationship with my pens is an odd on.

It feels like it was forever since I had a long warm hug. 14 days and still counting.

Lussebullar

On my way to work I was hit by a huge cravings of Lussebullar. Christmas feelings in general have been pulling at me lately. I think it is because I know that I once again have an apartment to decorate and that I also will be home in the cold this year. My craving for Lussebullar is still quite big, but it feels a bit shameful to already start won't the Christmas-treats...

No, I didn't have any time yesterday yo make a drawing. After cleaning and doing laundry I had to pick up my friend Anna at the train station. And since she was staying over there just wasn't any time for drawing. These drawings take me around 3-4 hours from a blank paper to finish. Longer if my pens are not working. It makes me a bit sad to have missed so many days of this challenge, but I guess that that's just how life is some times.

Fabrics

Today I went out to Stoff&Stil to buy both yarn and fabric. The yarn is for a few gifts that I'm going to knit, sadly I only found yarn for one of them. Gonna explore town and see if there's a store for yarn nearby, otherwise I try and order some instead from the internet .

The fabric is for my Halloween costume. I'm going to be a certain Disney princess in a long white dress and a laser blaster... Princess Leia of course, from Star Wars that Disney now owns. And in the store I realised that fabrics are very expensive. I needed 5 metres and the fabric I wanted was at 100kr per metre. Not gonna spend that much on a costume. But I found crossed velour for only 25kr per metre. If I turn it inside out it will kind of look like the fabric for Leila's dress.

I also found a beautiful yellow fabric that I will turn into new covers for my pillows that I gave in my sofa.

The View

I'm taking my bike everyday to work, great workout and I don't have to worry about missing the bus. Also, the view from the 2 km long bridge is just stunning, especially in the evenings with the setting sun glimmering in the water. Being almost blown away by the storming wind is a perfectly okay price for this view.

I need to bring my real camera for the next week, since my phones camera isn't fully able to capture the beauty.

Yet another day missed, I just didn't have the inspiration to draw anything. Writers block but for drawing I guess. There is still the need to buy new pens, since the one I found in my bag wont last me forever.

I found a working pen in my bag. But finding a pen didn't give me much inspiration and I draw what I mostly draw, a female face. Tried a bit to make it look like me, but I have no idea what my face actually looks like. And it is not as if I'm good at drawing down certain facial features. Oh well, it is what it is. The hairstyle is kind of me, that's something.

That Strange Face

Out of the blue I got the sudden urge to put make up on my face. So I did. And I took a picture and boy does my face look strange, I can barely recognize myself. The structure feels all wrong. I blame it on the makeup, that feels itchy and sticky and heavy on my face.  So not use to wear this amount of make up, I never bother with anything put mascara. I sometimes want to be one of those with bright red lipstick on, but I've never felt like it suited me once it was on. Make up in general feels so strange on me. Not the end of the world, but sometimes it is fun to express and be artsy with make up.

Yet another missed day, since I haven't had the change to buy new pens. With some luck I might be able to get from work before the stores closes tomorrow.

Labyrinth of Lies

Just bought and started playing the latest Nancy Drew. It's about ancient Greek and their myths, a subject I love. Not gonna write anything about the gameplay, it's too early for spoilers anyway.

It might just be because I'm working with it now, but I am much more aware of the animations made in the game.

Today I finally made the dead fox that I have wanted to do for a while. My inspiration comes from a beautiful short film made to a song by Sigur Rós.

This is kind of the first time that I draw an animal in forever and it felt a bit scary to do something so new. And I didn't have a reference picture, which I usually have to get a pose right.

Tomorrow I will need to buy new pens, all of mine are dying. And that's really killing the joy of drawing when you can't make a good solid line because the pen is starting to be useless.

Today wasn't a good day for me when it came to this challenge. I think that I choose a too hard reference picture. But that's how it is sometimes, sometimes you make something you're not proud of. Putting it up here anyway, I feel like it is important to accept that you're not perfect. Good night.

I am back on the InkTober challenge!

Bike Fixer

I finally got around to fixing my bike today. The wire to the gears have been loose and there has also been a weird noise. And since I'm riding this bike everyday to work it is kind of important that I have a bike that I actually can ride.

My hands got black by all the dirt and grease, but my bike is now working better than ever. It feels so good to be able to fix something like this. I'm really looking forward to riding it to work tomorrow.

The Horror

This evening has been filled with horror. I've been over at a friends place where we played different horror games all night long. We finished one game and started plating three others. The one we finished was called "among the sleep" and I was the only one playing that game, while the other watched. It was a nice game and just enough horror for me to survive. I don't play scary games and I don't watch scary movies, it's easily gets too much for me.
The other games that we started to play was "amnesia - the machine of pigs", "outlast" and "daylight". I'm didn't play so much of those games, which I am very happy about.

It was a really great evening, even if I've been screaming and spilling my soda all over me. I will probably need to watch some cartoons to be able to sleep though.

Third day with this challenge and I'm really happy that I'm doing this. I love drawing but so rarely take the time to sit down and draw something. My first idea for this was to draw a dead fox, but when searching for reference pictures on the Internet I found a beautiful illustration and it inspired me to do something very similar.

Weekend

Friday is here, the weekend has just started for me. I will start it with some ice cream, but after that there'll be a lot of things to do. My apartment needs to be cleaned quite badly. Clothes are laying around all over the place. I also need to repair my broken bike and make the balcony ready for the winter. There's probably more that needs to be done, but first some ice cream

Today I drew the whole painting upside down, I still don't know how it looks when turned right. And I'm still up way too late, especially since I have to wash my hair before work tomorrow. Good night folks.

Treat liked

    

I didn't really got much further than inside the door before Milky started scratching on the new scratching post. Both cats explored it and they seem to love it. Selma has spent the evening in it. I placed it in the kitchen, where their food used to be. It will give them a good outlook over basically the whole apartment, I'm trying to lore them up on the top with candy and food, but they haven't quite understood that they can rest on the top.

Treats for the cats

I passed by the pet shop on my way home from work and I bought a nice treat for my little babies at home. It was the last one that they had in the store. Hopefully it will make the babies happy when I'm away at work so much. 

It's just a small little gift... 

Feels a bit random though, sitting on the tram in rush hour with a huge toy for the cats.

Ebba, from my new work, told me about this challenge and I got really interested. I always find it hard to find both time and inspiration for drawing, so inktober will be challenge me in so many ways. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with this challenge for all the 31 days. So far it is looking good, even if I finished my drawing a little bit passed midnight.

I'm not sure if I'm finished with this piece actually, I usually want to draw the hair as well. But time is up, I need to go to bed.

Internship

Last Friday I got the wonderful news that I was welcome to do my internship at Zoink. It's a game studio located just by my school.

I started my internship yesterday, which was of course very scary. But I did well, survived the day with only screwing up once and it was easy to fix.

Since this internship is here in Gothenburg, it also means that I can take my cats back home! Something I will do on Sunday after the final kräftskiva with Linnéa and Anna.

Election Day

It is time to go and vote today here in Sweden. And I am so torned on how to vote. Not only do I have to vote for Riksdagen, Landstinget and Kommunfullmäktige. I also have a vote in a local question, wiether or not we're going to have congestion taxes.

My problem when it comes to voting for a political party is that I can't find anyone that I would feel comfortable reprensetating me. They all have huge cons that makes me so unsure. I have till 8 PM to figure this out and to find the place where I'm supposed to vote.

Tre Indier

The night has been amazing. Linnéa and Anna arrived to Gothenburg and I showed them around in this little city. We had dinner at Tre Indier, my favourite Indian restaurant. And the waiter was really nice. The evening was filled with wonderful food and nostalgic memories.

Tomorrow will be another awesome day, we are going to Liseberg and the spa. And I also need to find the time to make a car for Sundays celebrations.

Timing

Guess who's sick and has the most awesome weekend planned. Yeah, I'm so good with timing. But fingers crossed and lots of rest, I really want to get well very soon. 

Birthday

Birthday-cuddles with Milky

Cartoons, cats, swimming and partying till seven in the morning. That's how I celebrated my 26th birthday. And the celebrations will go on for a week, so it is not over yet, the best is yet to come. During this week I will celebrate with my friends in Gothenburg and the finale will be with Linnéa and Anna. They are coming down for the weekend and we will eat tasty food, ride rollercoasters, visit the spa, go on shopping sprees and finish it all with a huge cake. It will be so awesome and I just can't wait for it.

Back Home

After a short weekend at my parents I'm now waiting for the train that will take me back to Gothenburg. I've been here in Stockholm for a crayfish dinner party with my relatives. It was a bit boring, I don't really have anything in common with them and they ate quiet uptight. But the food was tasty at least, though I didn't eat any crayfishes.

It will be a bit empty coming home tonight. My cats are staying in Stockholm since I'm probably be moving away from Gothenburg soon. I will miss them a lot!

2 Years

24th August 2012. That was the day I passed my drivers exam and got my drivers licence. It was a huge day for me, it was such a huge relief when I got to hear the words that I passed. I remember running over to Linnéa in pure joy.

Two years have passed, which means that the trail period for my licence is over. Now I can't lose my licence as easy as before, which is a nice relief as well.

Went driving today, my brother wanted a ride to one of his friends. The rain was pouring down and I almost drowned in the car on my way back. But it all went fine and I sang loudly while driving.

Sometimes it feels like the time is flying away, but today I feel quiet the opposite. It is hard to imagine that two years have passed since that very sunny day in Kista, I have done so much in those years. Driving, moving, studying and much much more. It feels nice not feeling like the time has just passed in a blink of an eye, it is nice knowing that I've done things.

Early Birthday

I got an early birthday present today, the new IKEA catalouge. Going to read it tonight, in my IKEA-sofa, while the rain is falling outside. But before I'm allowing myself this gift I have to do laundry, sent some application for internships and make some animations. 

I Smell Pee

Today started after four hours of sleep and with pee on my clothes. I had laid some clothes in a pile on the bathroom floor and Selma had used them as a toilet. Can't be made on her, I know not to leave clothes near the litterbox. Bad timing though, since I was supposed to have some friends over. But since my whole apartment is drowning in pee stink I just had to cancel it. I was a bit lucky though, just as I got home I was able to get a time to do laundry.

Stormy Weather

When riding my bike back home from school I seriously thought this was the wrong day for a bike. The rain was like needles in my face, I could barely keep one eye open to see the road ahead. And add to that a wicked wind that almost succeeded in making me fly away, which is quiet scary when you're on a bridge far above the water. But I survived and rewarded myself with a warm shower.

It feels a bit early for autumn, but I guess it is time to go fetch for my warmer jackets.

A Monday

So today has been one of those really busy Mondays, which I actually like. Mondays are very important for me, if I don't get them right it will destroy the whole week.

So at seven I had to quick out Erik and get to school. It was great seeing all my classmates and getting started again. After buying cat food on the way home I had some time for myself before staring to make vanilla buns for the game evening that took place in my kitchen. The games were great, the company was funny and the buns were delicious.

At nine we left my place to go out for dinner. The restaurant we went to is one that our friend works at and also a place I saw when I just had moved in here and wanted to go to. It was also that friends birthday, so before parting at the tram stop we quietly sang happy birthday to her.

Just a great day that had given me lots of laughs and hopes. Now it is time for bed, a busy morning awaits me before even getting to school. A to-do-list has been written and placed by the computer, just like Linnéa once taught me.

Back to school

Today's little castle, WIP might I add

First day in school and back to Maya. It is very confusing going back to Maya after a year with 3ds Max, I suddenly feel like a beginner again. Everything is backwards and upside-down, very frustrating.

Almost everyone in the class are feeling the same, so I don't have to feel alone during this first week before i start to understand everything again. 

Sleepover

Tasty tasty kladdkaka

My old classmate and friend Erik came by yesterday and spent the night. I made him some kladdkaka and he made some tasty tortilla dinner for us. My tummy was ready to explode when I finally admitted myself defeated by all the tastiness. We started to watch "House of Cards" and I think we are both hooked now.

After some sleep I sadly had to throw out my friend, since I had to go back to school and he had a bus to catch. Though the visit was short it was a nice one, it feels great having people over.

Visits

I have had a lot of visitors these past few weeks. It has been really nice, not only for the company bit also since it has forced me to keep my apartment clean. I like having a clean home, but can sometimes have a hard time motivating myself into actually cleaning up the few messes.

Today Signe and her sister will come by for vegan dinner and boardgames. On Friday I'll have a friend sleeping over. And I'm hoping that Thomas might come down for another visit next weekend.

Okay, enough writing, time to get started. Vacuuming, cleaning windows, fur removal and bathroom cleaning is on my to do list before going grocery shopping.

Stitches

Milky and I have just been at the vet to remove his stitches. It took a little while, but Milky was behaving good. He will still be wearing his collar for a few more days. And we will also have to wait a few days for the test result. We have had the lump tested before, so I am not worried about the result from the biopsy.

Dumplings

My kitchen is filled with dirty dishes, but they will have to wait for another 8 hours or so. I had friends over for homemade gyozas, Japanese dumplings. It's the second time I'm treating my friends with these dumplings and they were just as loved this time. And I have enough ingredients to make another 40 ones, just for me.

Late Night Fun

Drawing, cookie dough and Desperate Housewives. Those are the key ingredients for my late evening while waiting for the apartment to get cool enough for some sleep. I have been drawing a lot lately and realized that I have been missing it a lot. Tonight I'm practicing on profiles, they are so difficult.

Expect some more WIP on this blog and I guess my deviantart will get some more action.

The Patient

It is now five days since Milky's operation and he is doing just fine. After two days he was forced back into the cone of shame, since he was starting to lick his wound. And after three days I had to stop the pain-medication, since it completely destroyed the poor babies tummy. He is fine though, doesn't seem to be in any pain, which is great. But he is a bit clumsy with that cone, which of course have been causing a few laughs here.

Empty Again

Thomas has been here all weekend, or actually since Wednesday. It was really nice having him here, even though the burning sun made it hard to do anything at all. He went home yesterday after a long and hard goodbye. I started to play some Nancy Drew to distract myself from the emptiness that he left behind.

The distance from the ones you love is a difficult one. Someone should really start working on teleportation devices, or at least high speed trains.

Caretaking

After finally getting Milky back home I was just heartbroken. I could see the pain he was in and knew that there was nothing I could do to ease it. So I decided to cancel the little dinner party and instead just take care of my cats.

A few hours have passed now and Milky is doing a lot better. He has been eating and drinking and just a second ago he jumped up on my desk. But mostly he lays on the floor, resting. I have started to groom him a bit and carefully clean the mess around his eyes. He is not really white at the moment.

And he is also being really good, I removed the cone around his neck and he has not been trying to lick his wound. I had to block so that he couldn't crawl under the bed though, just so I could make sure that he wasn't licking the wound.

In 12 days we will once more return to the vet to remove the stitches. I will also give him pain-medication for the coming 4-6 days.

Selma is not forgotten. I am starting to keep an extra eye on her as well. Since she is a little chubby I've gotten special weight loss food from the vet and are now trying to introduce this new food. Selma has barely been eating anything for the past 48 hours. A few years back she got serious problems with her liver because she starved herself, so I'm worried that this problem will return if she doesn't start to eat more soon. 

Busy Day

Today is a really busy day, which is great since I otherwise would just worry about Milky.

I think that is all I have to do today. Would love to apply to another internship and also finish Isabelle's gift, since her birthday is tomorrow. The cake I'm doing is for her birthday as well. It's a three layered mousse cake shaped as a my little pony.

At the moment I'm on my way in to city to do all my shopping. It feels so strange sitting on the tram, I miss my bike. My knees are probably thankful though, since they are hurting a lot.

Operation

After a sleepless night I've left Milky with the vet. He is having a operation to take away a lump. The lump is unharmful, it's just a bit big and unnecessary and is therefore removed.

I will pick him up later today, can't wait for it.

Bad App

The blogger app has become very annoying. I can't upload any posts with photos. And if I try to delete the photos the app just crashes. Not okay.

Bad Bike

On my way home from yesterday's board game evening my bike just had to break down. And back home I called my dad and got some help to fix my back. Sadly it was beyond my ability to repair. I will have to take it to a workshop and if it is too expensive I'll get my mothers bike. Luckily for me Thomas might take the car down tomorrow, so he could bring the bike for me.

New Game

Finally! I've been waiting for over half a year for this game, since they had to delay the launch. The game is Wayward Manor and written by Neil Gaiman, a great author. I'm really looking forward to this game and I hope it won't be a disappointment like the last Nancy Drew game.

Stinking

Changed the litter in my cats toilet yesterday to a new brand. Big mistake! It smelled so much that I threw it out this morning. It was useless in every other way as well, even the cats seemed to dislike it. Now I hope that I'll get my normal litter before the weekend, we need it here before accidents happens.

All By Myself

Syjunta without Linnéa and Anna is not the same, but this blanket needs to be finished. Watching Roswell, saw it when I was younger but I can't really remember anything.

Oh, and I think I'm coming down with a cold. I'll blame it on my friend that, with the power of guilt, made me run yesterday.

Lajv / Larp

Yepp, I've been convinced by my friend Steffi to attend a Lajv (I think it's Larp in english). We will be a group of at least four persons and we will all be trolls. I've spent a lot of time on the Internetz to find inspiration for my costume, as well as finding the good second hand stores here in Gothenburg.

  

  

  

 

I need to find a lot of leather for this costume, which I'm hoping on scoring cheap at the second hand stores. Tools is also something I need to find, a shoppinglist have been made at ClasOhlsson. And those horns will be a full time job to make, found a few helpful guides on youtube.

Going on a lajv is something I've been wanting to do for over 10 years now, but I've never dared until now. This lajv will be in the autumn, so I'll need to make sure that my clothes will stay warm and such.

Wet Fashion

I have been looking for ages for a new bikini, which has been very hard since I want boxers/shorts. But now I have found a few options, the only downside is the price tags and the fact that I can't try them on before buying.

These two are both from Ripcurl and I found them at zalando for around 400kr. It think the ones to the right is my favourite, since the pattern on the left ones doesn't match. But I don't know if I really can afford them and I would kind of need a new top as well. Oh, the troubles one can have.
