Crazy Saturday

Yesterday was such an eventful. The short version is that I went to Malmö for a birthday party. The longer version can be found below.

I was going to take the bus leaving Gothenburg at 11.00. And before that I had to make began snickers and go by the Systembolaget. Not that stressful. Of it isn't that you realize that you don't have the ingredients. So at 8.00 I took the bike to the nearest open store and bought the ingredients. And at 9.00 I'm finished with the snickers. Just in time to discover that the cat food won't last the day. So of to the vet to buy 6 kg food and feed my cats. Back at 9.45, the time I wanted to leave home for Systembolaget and the bus. In a hurry I change clothes, pack my stuff and leave the apartment. On the tram I'm starting to realize that the tickets are sold out, so I have to take a train that leaves 50 minutes later. No worries, gave me time to actually go to Systembolaget.

While riding the train I enjoy my music and knitting on my hat, a bit annoyed by the lack of of free WiFi. After a while they announce that we are a bit late. You know, just 1,5 hours and that the train was to be taken out of service at the next station. I might have been late, but at least I arrived to the party and had a great time. Lots of cakes, friends and a tower building game.

At 21.00 I had to leave the party, taking the last bus back to Gothenburg. I got to the bus station ten minutes before departure, and there was of course no bus there. The bus was 40 minutes late.. What can I say, yesterday wasn't the best day for traveling. I'm hoping that I can get some kind of refunds on my tickets, even if they weren't that expensive I am kind o f a poor person.

So the last two days have been a bit forgotten when it comes to this challenge. And I do not have any hopes for this day either. But we will see how it goes on the near future. Hopefully I will pick the pen up again and start drawing again.

This one is incomplete, I know. But I really need to learn and get to bed earlier. So I'm calling time for today. I will finish it tomorrow, a bit of cheating I guess but that's how it is now.

Where did the time go? How did it get so very late? Need sleep, now! Tried my best with a mermaid today and thought a bit on why they have both breasts and noses when they are fishes. Also, having a pair of breasts does not help me draw them. I should, and also want to, go drawing models so that I get a hang of the human body once again.

I finally bought new pens today and I now have to do the hard thing of actually throwing away the old ones. It pains me to trow them away, they aren't really free and I also don't want to give up on them. The relationship with my pens is an odd on.

It feels like it was forever since I had a long warm hug. 14 days and still counting.

Lussebullar

On my way to work I was hit by a huge cravings of Lussebullar. Christmas feelings in general have been pulling at me lately. I think it is because I know that I once again have an apartment to decorate and that I also will be home in the cold this year. My craving for Lussebullar is still quite big, but it feels a bit shameful to already start won't the Christmas-treats...

No, I didn't have any time yesterday yo make a drawing. After cleaning and doing laundry I had to pick up my friend Anna at the train station. And since she was staying over there just wasn't any time for drawing. These drawings take me around 3-4 hours from a blank paper to finish. Longer if my pens are not working. It makes me a bit sad to have missed so many days of this challenge, but I guess that that's just how life is some times.

Fabrics

Today I went out to Stoff&Stil to buy both yarn and fabric. The yarn is for a few gifts that I'm going to knit, sadly I only found yarn for one of them. Gonna explore town and see if there's a store for yarn nearby, otherwise I try and order some instead from the internet .

The fabric is for my Halloween costume. I'm going to be a certain Disney princess in a long white dress and a laser blaster... Princess Leia of course, from Star Wars that Disney now owns. And in the store I realised that fabrics are very expensive. I needed 5 metres and the fabric I wanted was at 100kr per metre. Not gonna spend that much on a costume. But I found crossed velour for only 25kr per metre. If I turn it inside out it will kind of look like the fabric for Leila's dress.

I also found a beautiful yellow fabric that I will turn into new covers for my pillows that I gave in my sofa.

The View

I'm taking my bike everyday to work, great workout and I don't have to worry about missing the bus. Also, the view from the 2 km long bridge is just stunning, especially in the evenings with the setting sun glimmering in the water. Being almost blown away by the storming wind is a perfectly okay price for this view.

I need to bring my real camera for the next week, since my phones camera isn't fully able to capture the beauty.

Yet another day missed, I just didn't have the inspiration to draw anything. Writers block but for drawing I guess. There is still the need to buy new pens, since the one I found in my bag wont last me forever.

I found a working pen in my bag. But finding a pen didn't give me much inspiration and I draw what I mostly draw, a female face. Tried a bit to make it look like me, but I have no idea what my face actually looks like. And it is not as if I'm good at drawing down certain facial features. Oh well, it is what it is. The hairstyle is kind of me, that's something.

That Strange Face

Out of the blue I got the sudden urge to put make up on my face. So I did. And I took a picture and boy does my face look strange, I can barely recognize myself. The structure feels all wrong. I blame it on the makeup, that feels itchy and sticky and heavy on my face.  So not use to wear this amount of make up, I never bother with anything put mascara. I sometimes want to be one of those with bright red lipstick on, but I've never felt like it suited me once it was on. Make up in general feels so strange on me. Not the end of the world, but sometimes it is fun to express and be artsy with make up.

Yet another missed day, since I haven't had the change to buy new pens. With some luck I might be able to get from work before the stores closes tomorrow.

Labyrinth of Lies

Just bought and started playing the latest Nancy Drew. It's about ancient Greek and their myths, a subject I love. Not gonna write anything about the gameplay, it's too early for spoilers anyway.

It might just be because I'm working with it now, but I am much more aware of the animations made in the game.

Today I finally made the dead fox that I have wanted to do for a while. My inspiration comes from a beautiful short film made to a song by Sigur Rós.

This is kind of the first time that I draw an animal in forever and it felt a bit scary to do something so new. And I didn't have a reference picture, which I usually have to get a pose right.

Tomorrow I will need to buy new pens, all of mine are dying. And that's really killing the joy of drawing when you can't make a good solid line because the pen is starting to be useless.

Today wasn't a good day for me when it came to this challenge. I think that I choose a too hard reference picture. But that's how it is sometimes, sometimes you make something you're not proud of. Putting it up here anyway, I feel like it is important to accept that you're not perfect. Good night.

I am back on the InkTober challenge!

Bike Fixer

I finally got around to fixing my bike today. The wire to the gears have been loose and there has also been a weird noise. And since I'm riding this bike everyday to work it is kind of important that I have a bike that I actually can ride.

My hands got black by all the dirt and grease, but my bike is now working better than ever. It feels so good to be able to fix something like this. I'm really looking forward to riding it to work tomorrow.

The Horror

This evening has been filled with horror. I've been over at a friends place where we played different horror games all night long. We finished one game and started plating three others. The one we finished was called "among the sleep" and I was the only one playing that game, while the other watched. It was a nice game and just enough horror for me to survive. I don't play scary games and I don't watch scary movies, it's easily gets too much for me.
The other games that we started to play was "amnesia - the machine of pigs", "outlast" and "daylight". I'm didn't play so much of those games, which I am very happy about.

It was a really great evening, even if I've been screaming and spilling my soda all over me. I will probably need to watch some cartoons to be able to sleep though.

Third day with this challenge and I'm really happy that I'm doing this. I love drawing but so rarely take the time to sit down and draw something. My first idea for this was to draw a dead fox, but when searching for reference pictures on the Internet I found a beautiful illustration and it inspired me to do something very similar.

Weekend

Friday is here, the weekend has just started for me. I will start it with some ice cream, but after that there'll be a lot of things to do. My apartment needs to be cleaned quite badly. Clothes are laying around all over the place. I also need to repair my broken bike and make the balcony ready for the winter. There's probably more that needs to be done, but first some ice cream

Today I drew the whole painting upside down, I still don't know how it looks when turned right. And I'm still up way too late, especially since I have to wash my hair before work tomorrow. Good night folks.

I didn't really got much further than inside the door before Milky started scratching on the new scratching post. Both cats explored it and they seem to love it. Selma has spent the evening in it. I placed it in the kitchen, where their food used to be. It will give them a good outlook over basically the whole apartment, I'm trying to lore them up on the top with candy and food, but they haven't quite understood that they can rest on the top.

Treats for the cats

I passed by the pet shop on my way home from work and I bought a nice treat for my little babies at home. It was the last one that they had in the store. Hopefully it will make the babies happy when I'm away at work so much. 

It's just a small little gift... 

Feels a bit random though, sitting on the tram in rush hour with a huge toy for the cats.

Ebba, from my new work, told me about this challenge and I got really interested. I always find it hard to find both time and inspiration for drawing, so inktober will be challenge me in so many ways. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with this challenge for all the 31 days. So far it is looking good, even if I finished my drawing a little bit passed midnight.

I'm not sure if I'm finished with this piece actually, I usually want to draw the hair as well. But time is up, I need to go to bed.
